Inbox Triage

Operations was one of the four workflows I removed myself from, and most of it was my inbox. Every question, every approval, every deal update landed in one place, and that place was me. Deals move at the speed of your inbox, and mine was slow because I was busy running the company it fed. So I gave the inbox its own system: classify, route, draft, digest. I still run it. The digest lands every morning.

In a session, this workflow gets one of three verdicts: automate it now, fix it manually first, or leave it alone.

In practice the inbox splits. The sorting and the digest are "automate it now." The drafting is "fix it manually first" until the agent has enough of your real replies to learn the voice from. And if email isn't where your business actually happens, leave it alone. Triage is plumbing, and plumbing only pays when the pipe is full.
