This one runs on my own calls. The recording becomes notes, the notes become an action list, and the recap is drafted before I'm back at my desk. I read it once and send it. I used to end every call with six words on a sticky note and the next call in four minutes. The notes don't depend on my memory anymore, and neither do the promises. The session you book runs through this desk too. You leave with the recording.

Follow-ups earn "automate it now" the day your calls outnumber the gaps between them, because the desk runs on recordings and recordings don't get tired. If your calls aren't recorded yet, it's "fix it manually first": the recorder goes on, a few weeks of calls pile up, and the desk gets built on real material. And if you take two calls a week and your recaps already go out the same day, leave it alone. You are the desk, and you're fast enough.
