People look you up before they visit. Make your homepage easy to read.
A local business lives on a few details: what you are, where you are, when you’re open and how to reach you. SignalGrade checks whether your homepage states them in a form search and AI tools can read.
What matters most here
Four of the seven, read for you.
Every business gets the same seven checks. This page explains four of them in terms of shops, restaurants, salons and clinics. Structured data means business details written in code so software can read them.
Business details software can readYour name, address, hours and phone in structured data, as a LocalBusiness or a specific type such as Restaurant or HairSalon.
Says who you areA title like “Luna Salon: haircuts and color in Boca Raton” tells a searcher more than “Home”.
Set up for phonesPeople often look you up on a phone, on the way to you.
Not hidden from searchA leftover noindex setting from a site rebuild can keep the homepage out of results.
What a finding looks like
An example, in the report’s words.
This is the format and wording the check uses. It is an illustrative example, not a customer result.
Business details software can read
Needs attention
1 JSON-LD block found; 1 parsed. Types: WebSite. None of these is an organization or local-business type.
What to do. Publish accurate LocalBusiness details: name, address or service area, phone and website.
Illustrative example
Same engine. Same limits.
This page changes the explanation, not the check. It doesn’t check your Google Business Profile, reviews, map position or listings on other sites. It doesn’t ask AI assistants about you or track rankings.
Does SignalGrade check my Google Business Profile?
No. It reads your own website: the homepage, robots.txt and llms.txt. Your Google profile, reviews and map position are outside the check.
Which structured data type should a local business use?
LocalBusiness, or a more specific type when one fits, such as Restaurant, HairSalon or Dentist. The check accepts any of them and lists the types it found.
What if I have more than one location?
The check reads the homepage only. If each location has its own page, those pages are not checked; a person can review them in the Audit.
