Google is moving Local Services ads. Save your reports first.
Google is moving Local Services ads into Google Ads. Old performance reports will not come over, so save them before your move date.
If you pay for Google Local Services ads, Google is moving them into Google Ads. Your old performance reports will not come with them. Save your reports before your move date. Then check your Google Business Profile, because the ad now pulls your name, address and hours from it.
What is moving
Google explains the change on a Google Ads help page. Local Services ads become a kind of Performance Max campaign with pay-per-lead goals. You will manage them inside Google Ads instead of the old Local Services dashboard.
Some things stay the same. The ads still show on Google Search and Google Maps in the same spots. You still pay for valid leads, like calls and messages, not for clicks. There are still no keywords to manage.
When your business moves
Google is moving accounts in groups. The first group started in August 2026. It covers some US home and storefront service businesses, like plumbing, HVAC, electrical, house cleaning, lawn care, roofing, pest control and moving.
Service-area businesses without a storefront move in late 2026. So do accounts with custom bidding or booking setups. Non-US accounts and other business types move in 2027.
The admin on your account gets an email 14 days before your move date. A reminder comes 7 days later. After the move, the old dashboard sends you to Google Ads.
What does not come with you
Google says your Local Services ads performance reports will not move to Google Ads. That means past spend, impressions, clicks and ad reports. Google says a download page is coming. Until then, it says to take screenshots before you move.
Your leads do come with you. Google says past lead history, contact details, message history and older call recordings move over to a new Leads page.
Why your Google Business Profile matters more now
After the move, your business name, address and hours come from your Google Business Profile. They sync one way, and you cannot edit them inside Google Ads. To change them, you change the profile.
Small changes, like new hours, sync within 24 hours. A big change to your business name, storefront address or main category needs a review. Google says that review usually takes 24 to 48 hours, and your ad may pause while it runs.
Other changes to expect
Weekly budgets turn into daily budgets. Google takes your average weekly budget and divides it by 7. Manual bidding goes away, and so do Better Business Bureau callouts. Google also says to allow up to two weeks for the move to fully finish.
Earlier this month we wrote about how Local Services ads can charge for calls you missed. That rule is about leads, and you still pay per lead.
What I would do this week
Open your Local Services dashboard and save your reports. Screenshot the spend, leads and cost per lead for each month you care about. Put the files somewhere you will find them next year.
Then open your Google Business Profile. Check the name, address, hours and main category. If something is wrong, fix it now, before your move date, so a review does not pause your ad during the switch.
