Restaurants can now turn off delivery apps on Google
Restaurants can now remove Uber Eats, DoorDash and other ordering links from their Google Business Profile. Here is where to do it.
Restaurants can now turn off third-party ordering links on their own Google Business Profile. Search Engine Roundtable reported it on October 28, 2026. If Uber Eats, DoorDash or Grubhub shows on your profile and you do not want it there, remove it yourself.
What changed
Barry Schwartz at Search Engine Roundtable wrote that Google added controls for third-party ordering on Business Profiles. Lisa Landsman from Google announced it on LinkedIn. Before, an owner had to ask each delivery app to pull its feed. Now, she wrote, you can "manage and opt out of specific providers directly from your dashboard."
Barry named Uber Eats, DoorDash, Instacart and Grubhub as apps an owner should now be able to turn off. He called it a feature restaurants have been begging for for years.
Why old links can still be on your profile
Google's help page says delivery apps that state they have a deal with your business get listed on your profile on their own. You did not have to add them.
So if you left an app, its link can still sit on your profile. A customer taps it and orders through that app. Or they land on an old menu.
On October 28 we wrote about Messenger links Google adds to some profiles. Same lesson here. Read your profile the way a customer sees it.
How to remove a delivery app
Google's help page lists the steps. Go to your Business Profile and select Food ordering. Pick a provider or link from the list. Then select Remove link.
Google says the provider must take the link down within 5 business days of your request. If it does not, you can report a violation.
You can also mark an app as preferred for pickup or for delivery. Select the provider, select Set as preferred, then save.
Be careful with one switch. If you turn off Accept orders on your profile, Google hides every ordering link you added. That includes your own.
What I would do this week
Open Food ordering and read the whole list. Remove any app you no longer use.
Then tap each link that is left, the way a customer would. Make sure it opens the right menu for the right location.
Lisa Landsman gave the same advice in her post. Check your active ordering channels this week and make sure every link leads to an accurate menu.
